3PE Steel Pipe Anti-Corrosion&Insulation Production Line
The purpose of applying an external coating is to increase the service life of the pipeline. First of all, the outer coating prevents the appearance of corrosion. Secondly, the outer coating provides thermal insulation. Thermal insulation improves oil consumption. Thanks to this, compressors that are designed to pump oil through a pipeline can be reduced in number and size. Thirdly, the outer coating is simply necessary to provide mechanical protection. The outer coating protects the pipes during storage, installation and transportation. As a result, the pipe is protected from damage from the outside.
In external coating installations, the coating is applied to the outer surface of an uncoated steel pipe. There are different types of exterior coating installations for applying different types of coating. The type of coating depends on the location of the pipeline and the service temperature. The following main types of external coating for pipes are distinguished: 3-layer coating, FBE coating, 2-layer FBE coating and multilayer coating. Most of the pipelines in operation have an external coating of 3 layers.
